"Matt, you wouldn't believe it. You saved me $9 million." That's what a seasoned executive told me last week. It sounds insane. 9 Million. He'd spent 4 hours with us. That's it. Four hours. So I asked him to walk me through it. And the math was right. His company was deep in a major negotiation with a multinational client, and the relationship had soured over QA/QC issues. The client had bases in the US, France, and Germany. Different communication styles in all three of those countries. He wanted to make sure he was prepared. He used AI to prepare for the people who were on the other side, to prepare for the communication style, to make sure he was ready to verbally have the conversation and then to follow up in the right way, being impeccable with his words. AI allowed him to do that. The Takeaway For Your Business: He's a seasoned executive with real negotiation instincts. He combined that mastery with proper prompting, using AI to prepare for the people on the other side of the table. A client who'd been talking about walking away, even threatening to sue, ended up in a win-win. They saved the relationship, and they locked in the next contract. "Matt, that next contract is worth $21 million." The higher up you are in your organization, the more mastery you have (the stuff only you can do), the bigger your opportunity to commandeer AI for outcomes like this one. His years of negotiation experience are what made the prompting sharp enough to matter. AI gave him an edge. The judgment was already his. We're all still figuring out what AI means for the future of work. We need those with the most amount of experience and have the most amount of reasonability to lead those in your charge through this era.
