His framing has stayed with me: working with these systems is closer to managing than to chatting.

You're Not Ambitious Enough With Claude by Christine Zhu

Christine Zhu goes further. She stopped using AI to clear her small tasks and started using it on the work she had been putting off. Strategy. New bets. The hard, ambiguous thinking.

That is where the leap came.

Here is the tension worth sitting with.

We hold the hardest work back because judgment feels like the last defensible human skill.

But judgment is largely pattern-matching over context. And these systems can hold more context than we can.

That does not make judgment worthless. It makes it different.

You are no longer the one producing the work. You are the one who defines it, directs it, and knows when it's wrong.

That is a harder skill, not an easier one. And you cannot fake it.

AI changes almost everything about how the work gets done.

It changes nothing about needing to know what good looks like.

So take the highest-leverage thing you have been avoiding. Give AI your context and your current thinking.

Then ask it what you are missing.
